About K9 Nose Work®

Nose work is a fun sport where dogs are rewarded for using their nose. First, we start with hiding something that is highly rewarding for the dogs like a favorite toy or delicious treats.  Once they learn to "hunt", the reward is paired with the scent of essential oils. Through repetition and exposure, the dogs learn to associate the scent with their reward. Additional challenges are presented with the four main search elements: interiors, exteriors, containers and vehicles.

Handlers can choose whether they want to just have fun and play the sniff game with their dog or may choose to compete in trials. Either way, the dogs benefit from the mental and physical activity the sport offers.
